In 1835, the Warrior Run Church in Turbotville, PA, was built with bricks fired at the Hower-Slote House at the site of Fort Freeland. The building is of the classic Greek Doric design and features two aisles and seats to accommodate approximately 240 people. Today, the church is a state and national historic site maintained by volunteers under the supervision of the Warrior Run - Fort Freeland Heritage Society. Founded in 1978 this non-profit organization is dedicated to the preservation of history and heritage of the Warrior Run Area. While no longer used for weekly services, the church is available for weddings as well as hosting an annual Sunrise service in April and a Candlelight service each December.
